Aus-T. Aman Against Fallow-Boro-Fallow-T. Aman Rice https://rsepress.com/index.php/jasei/article/view/66 <p>A trial was conducted at multi-location testing (MLT) site Ranigonj, Dinajpur and Ghoraghat, Dinajpur under On-Farn Research Division (OFRD) during 2015-16 and 2016-17 to develop an economically sustainable and profitable cropping patterns, viz. Mustard (var. BARI Sarisha-14)-Boro (var. BRRI dhan28)- T. Aus (var. BRRI dhan48)-T. Aman (var. BRRI dhan62) against the farmers existing pattern Fallow- Boro (var. BRRI dhan28)- T. Aman (var. Swarna)-Fallow. The experiment was carried out in RCB design with six dispersed replications. Over both locations two years average results showed that the highest rice equivalent yield 20.82 tha<sup>-1</sup> was obtained from four crops pattern. The highest average gross return and gross margin of the four crops pattern were obtained Tk. 333160 ha<sup>-1</sup> and Tk.146463 ha<sup>-1</sup> which was 93.70% and 122.58% higher over farmers existing pattern. The mean marginal benefit cost ratio (MBCR) was found 2.03 which indicated the superiority of four crops pattern over the farmers existing pattern. Both locations two years result showed that Grain yield of inclusion T. Aus rice and mustard yield were satisfactory that indicates the superiority of the alternate pattern over the farmer’s practice. The purpose of this research was to assess the yield, performance, and stability of maize hybrids and to identify suitable environments for maize production in Bangladesh. The maize hybrid Sunshine produced the highest yield (11.24 t ha<sup>-1</sup> to 12.85 t ha<sup>-1</sup>) followed by Kaveri 60 (7.04 t ha<sup>-1</sup> to 12.72 t ha<sup>-1</sup>). Genotype ×environment interaction effects have influential effects on the yield of maize hybrids. The sums of squares of GGE were found as 43.96% and 24.2%, respectively, for the principal component 1 (PC1) and principal component 2 (PC2), respectively. In the biplot polygon view, there were six rays that divided the biplot into six sectors and the six environmental locations were accommodated within four sectors. Jessore was determined as the typical test environment for the country followed by Bhurrirhut and Jamalpur. Ideal testing sites would provide information to identify the superior maize hybrids to minimize the expenses of the country. Considering the yield potentiality and stability, Sunshine, 9MS/S5-1×BIL-114 and, 9MS/S7-9×BIL-114 were found as the most stable and high yield producing hybrids across the six environmental conditions. It is likely that food insecurity will progress more rapidly with rising temperatures and variable rainfall. Hence, the aim of this study is to assess to assess climate vulnerability on livelihoods, and coping Mechanism in selected three Woredas’ of Bale lowland. The study was conducted in Six PA’s of the Rayitu, Dawe Qachen and Guradamole Woreda .In order to achieve these objectives, the study collected data from primary and secondary sources. The primary data collected by using data gathering tools such as FGDs (6), key informant interviews (50) and household survey (436). The study finding showed that the fluctuation of climate makes the on livelihood of the pastoralist community vulnerable in affecting their crop and livestock productivity of the pastoralists’ community. Furthermore, the finding of the study also showed that there have to be an appropriate adaptation mechanism to the changing and fluctuating climate as well as it increases pastoralists community awareness about Mechanism by which climate variability to reduce the impact and also to increase institutional involvement with different intervention Mechanism. The vulnerability of climate fluctuation exacerbated by lack of adaptation and commitment from both pastoralists and local institutions. Since pastoralists are prioritizing their immediate benefits rather than sustainable development. To cope with the vulnerability the societies use saving, migration diversification, dissemination of technology and provision of safety nets to some lowlanders and emergency aid is among the coping Mechanism provided by the government institution. Based on the findings and results of the study the following recommendations suggested to minimize the vulnerability of the pastoral communities.
